Backflow Preventer Assembly Type BA according to DIN EN 1717.
According to this standard the water quality falls into 5 classes depending on the degree of contamination.
This assembly provides protection against non-potable water up to class of risk 4; the ones which may be protected through a device.
The highest class of risk 5 has to be secured only through a free outlet.
IMT Backflow Preventers work according to the reduced pressure zone principle, the three-chamber system, where the intermediate pressure zone, separated from the other two through a check valve, can be vented to the atmosphere. This occurs automatically when the pressure drop between upstream and intermediate pressure zone reaches the value of 0,14 bar.
