The Gas Safety Shut-off Valve in straight and angle pattern is used for installations according to DVGW-TRGI 2008 which use gases according to DVGW-Arbeitsblatt G 260 Part 1 and are subject to a maximum allowable operating pressure of 5 bar.
These gas installations are usually central gas heating systems and water heaters, such as instantaneous water heaters.

According to DVGW-TRGI 2008 and the German Fire Code Draft Recommendation (FeuVo) of 02/95, Edition 09/97, §4 Paragraph 6, the thermally released steel shut-off device (TAE) automatically shuts off the gas flow at temperatures above 100°C (212°F) and remains closed at 650°C (1202°F) forat least 30 minutes.
The IMT Gas Safety Shut-off Valves automatically shuts off the gas flow already at temperatures between 92°C and 100°C (198°F -212°F) within 45 seconds and keeps the installation at 925°C (1697°F) for at least 60 minutes gas tight.
